Endless patience, that's what they have!
I had a million-and-one questions, and made just as many
changes to the agreement, but Coffee News Europe and Africa
and Europe just kept their cool. I must say to communicate
over the vast distance of Africa from Namibia to Spain ,
was not always easy, but in the end, the distance did not
even play a role.
Because of the distance, however, I could
not attend training sessions in Spain . Fortunately, I used
to work in publishing, so THAT part of my “new”
job was not strange to me. I found the Coffee News manual
very helpful in all respects, but especially on the sales
side because I did not have a background in sales. Today,
I am a proud Coffee News publisher in a country with less
than 2 million inhabitants. People here like the concept,
and although it is still new, one coffee shop owner told
me: “What I am seeing is that the other advertising
publications have gone out of style. Suddenly, people are
sitting down and reading.”
I do hope that the trend continues, because
I plan to be my own boss in this business for a very long
time to come. It is hard work, but fun and I can recommend
it to anyone who wants to be their own boss and is prepared
to work hard.
Best wishes from sunny Namibia !
